Well regarded for his population-based approach to cancer control, 2WCC President Dr. Simon Sutcliffe and the Two worlds Cancer Collaboration team are channelling their expertise to support Brazil, India, Nepal and Peru as their cancer control programs evolve.
While Brazil is an “emerging economy” and is considered an important player on the global economic stage, it has significant disparities in medical care. Two Worlds is partnering with INCTR-Brazil and the National Cancer Institute of Brazil (INCA).
Since 2013, 2WCC health professionals have collaborated with Peru’s National Cancer Institute (INEN) and with the association of South American National Cancer Institutes (RINC).
In India and Nepal, Two Worlds is actively engaged in population-based palliative and end-of-life care and outreach healthcare programs in urban and rural communities.
2WCC is initiating a pilot project in early detection and surgical management of oral cancer – one of the most common cancers in men and women in Asia – supported by the MNJ Institute in Hyderabad.
